Last Monday 22nd of April 2019 Warisarang Thungthongrojana visited in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) the hmong fashion designer Mr. Binh Sa. The talented hmong Vietnamese designer showed the work place where he designs and creates all the garments of his brand Hmong Tagkis.
Both designers, Warisarang and Binh Sa, had the opportunity to talk deeply and exchange visions and ideas of the future and trends of hmong fashion in both countries: Thailand and Vietnam.
Binh Sa, originally from the north near Sapa with 15 years’ experience on fashion, sells directly to retailers who resell his creations or he sells also online. His markets are Vietnam and United States. His creations are unique so he mainly only makes one piece per design. Although he started designing very exclusive Áo dài (Vietnamese traditional dress) he later focused on his hmong dresses.
Both designers talked in hmong language about the process of creation and sewing of each piece and collection. After the meeting Warisarang said about Binh Sa hmong clothes: “Seeing his work makes me understand the beauty of the precise moment where art and fashion meet and match perfectly”.
